some drawings done yesterday. i wanted to do something different this time, and draw directly onto different printed papers that i could find in my collections of scrap. it turned out to be a lot harder because of the (thin) texture of the paper and the text underneath, which made it hard to see initial pencil outlines. not v. happy with the outcome, but it's a start!

below is the process of Que Absurdo!:

pencil outline + black pen

apply white paint (then black ink, then touch up with black pen)

*p.s i'm having these weird spacing issues with blogger, so please ignore the huge gaps. title of the drawing is below the image

the society inc

i recently received a fantastic interiors book for my birthday called etcetera. it's written by Sibella Court, who runs The Society Inc - a shop that i will definitely visit one day. it's full of interior makeover ideas, tips and things that she has learnt over the years of being a stylist (Sibella is currently the interiors editor of harpers bazaar and grazia).

this pic is taken from the 'some things we love' section, and is just a taste of the intricate layers, different textures, shapes and vintage finds that define her unique aesthetic.

interior

one of my dreams is to start with an all white house (with different shades of white of course, i wouldn't want it to be clinical) - then slowly add bits and pieces of colour to it as i travel and find things from all over the world.

this spread is from insideout - one of my favourite interior magazines, which also has a very good blog for design finds and happenings around Sydney. another link is Be @ Homewhich offers hints and tips for the amateur interior designer and crafter.

or is this...

better? what do you think?

just for a bit of fun,

i have ripped off american apparel layouts. well, who said helvetica was theirs anyway....
the reason for this is the initial photos were pretty terrible (poor lighting against a wall in my house, and the photos were taken separately - alistair took mine and i took his - so i dont even know is we are comparatively the right size!) so an AA layout seemed the simplest way to clear up the mess :)

so although this is a bit different, the image is just to show the key + locket necklace worn as a set.  it is worn on a 40cm antique brass chain, which you can of course specify if you prefer. listing on ze shop now.

...and it shows you how to MAKE the EARS!!
