macaron heaven

please, transport me to macaron heaven - Theurel & Thomas - the first macaroon specialist patisserie in Mexico. but why Mexico and not France, where they originated? Well really it's for the decor, as this place is ALL white (it's my dream to have a white house ..) to allow the macarons to really pop. this is what Anagrama (the agency in charge of the design) have to say.

"White was our primary tool for design. As a result of this the attention was fully oriented to the colorful macarons. We placed two lines in our design in cyan and magenta, as a relation with a modern French flag to inject a vanguard vision to the identity."

there are some amazing looking creations and colours on the website, but i really couldn't go past The Chai...

drew this today with the lucky pencil i got from uglygirl's giveaway - and i'm pretty happy with it so it must be a lucky pencil! below is the process i went through..does anyone prefer it without the colours?

1. raw scan of drawing (pencil + 0.1mm pen)

2. scanned in a page from an old book and put it as a background

3. added colours

4. more colour... and done!

i think i'm going to use this for a new masthead.. the current one is well out of date!

Paper Hearts Project

i'm really excited today to post about the Paper Hearts Project!

it all started yesterday afternoon when i got a bit bored and decided to cut out paper hearts from scrap coloured paper, and stick them around the neighborhood with the help of blutack, a camera and a taller person :)

this project is inspired by katie sokoler from colour me katie - one of the happiest blogs around that is guaranteed to cheer you up!

the idea of the project is just to spread some love around the world - maybe someone will see a heart and smile, maybe someone will pick it up and read the message on it, maybe someone will take it home - it might even make their day :)
